Тема урока: «Hobbies in different countries»

Цель урока:

-систематизация имеющихся у учащихся лексических и грамматических навыков по теме «Хобби»;

Задачи урока:

1. практические:

— совершенствование навыков монологической и диалогической речи по теме «хобби»;

— совершенствовать навыки чтения с извлечением необходимой информации;

— развивать навыки перевода.

2. образовательные:

1) обеспечить в ходе урока повторение лексических единиц по изучаемой теме;

2) познакомить учащихся с самыми распространенными хобби в различных странах мира;

3. развивающие:

1) развить и расширить лексические навыки ;

2) познакомить учащихся с формой работы «интервью» с последующим докладом;

3) развить учения находить необходимую информацию в воспринимаемом на слух тексте;

4) развить навыки орфографии;

5) развить способность общаться на английском языке;

4. воспитательные:

1) Привить учащимся чувство заинтересованности, желания изучать иностранный язык, любви к иностранному языку

Ход урока:

1. Организационный момент. Знакомство с целями и задачами урока.

-Good afternoon, students. I am glad to see you all here today. Take your seats, please. Today, as you can see, we have a few guests. They have come to see how well we can work. Let us show what we can do. So, let us start our lesson.

Today᾿s lesson is the first lesson after weekend. Now I want you to answer my question: «What did you do last weekend? How did you spend last weekend?» ( ответ учащихся).

-Ok, students, as far as I can see you were busy doing certain things. As for me, on Sunday I played football. Actually I play it 2 or 3 times a week. And if a person does something regularly, and likes doing this, it means that he has a certain hobby. That is why it must be clear to you that the topic of our today᾿s lesson is… Right you are- we are going to speak about hobby.

So, what do you think we are going to do today? What do you expect from this lesson? What are the aims of our lesson? ( to revise lexical units about hobbies, to find out the most popular hobbies).

You are right again. Now, before we start our work, I would like you to answer my question: What hobbies have you got? ( спросить у каждого учащегося).

II. Фонетическая и лексическая разминка.

Thank you. I think it is not surprising that in different countries people have different hobbies. That is why today we shall try to make an imaginable excursion to different countries and find out what the most popular hobbies in these countries are. Now students, I want you to look at the screen. Before we start our journey, let us refresh our knowledge in different names of hobbies. You will see a picture on the screen and the task is to name the hobby. Let us begin.

Thank you very much, students. Our next task will be the following. You will read the definition of certain hobbies, and your task will be to name what hobby is meant. So, let us begin.

Such people like to visit different cities, towns and historical places. Some people even visit other countries. They can travel by car, by bus, by plane or by train. This hobby helps them to learn history, heography and traditions of different people and countries.

So, what is that? ( Travelling)

People like to spend their free time near the rivers or lakes. They often go there with their friends or relatives. They can have picnics there. People usually go there in summer, but sometimes they can go there even in winter, too. This hobby is more popular among men.

(fishing, camping)

This hobby is interesting and useful. People try to find or buy different things such as stamps, badges, coins, pictures and so on. This hobby helps people to make new friends and to learn some new things about countries and lands, animals and birds, famous people and historical places and events.

(collecting)

This hobby is popular with people of all ages. People like to go to the stadiums and to the sport grounds. They try to be strong and healthy. Their hobby helps them to develop their mind and body and teaches them to plan their time.

(doing sports)

People like to go to the library. Some of them have a good collection of books at home. And they are really proud of it. They can have different books: fiction, historical novels, books about animals and birds, books about different countries. This hobby helps them to relax, to learn the world and understand people better.

That will do, students. Now answer my question, please: Have you got foreign pen friends? I think when you play computer games, for example you communicate with the foreigners. But I am absolutely sure that you do not know anything about them. Now we have an excellent opportunity to listen to a story of a boy who is about your age. He is going to speak about his hobbies. Now, students, we have just listened to this person. He has told us about his hobbies. Now I want to see how well you understood him. In your activity sheets you have a group of sentences. Your task is to say whether they are true or false.

Thank you, students. Do you remember the question that Jack asked you at the end of his speech? He wanted to know the most popular hobbies in different countries. Now we shall try to answer his question and may be to find something new for us themselves. I think that as we live in Russia, we may start our journey from our country. So, let us begin.

Now you shall see a letter in which a Russian student tries to speak about the most popular hobbies in our country to his foreign pen friend. But it is not surprising that not all Russian students are good at English. Sometimes they can make mistakes when writing letters. Our task will be to correct the mistakes which we will meet when writing a letter.

Dear Boby

In one of your a letters you asked me to write about hobbies which is popular in our country. (2) So, I will try to help you with this very letter. As you know, our country rather big and there is a lot of people there. (2) For me it is rather difficult to speak about hobbies in general, because all the people is absolutely different. (1) That is why I decided to use the resources of the internet. Well, according to the statistics I found out that in Russia 3 most popular hobbies is picking up berries and mushrooms, fishing and hunting. (1) But to tell you the truth, I not sure about that. Do you agree? It is rather a strange, isn᾿t it?

Well, I have already saw a lot of sites in the internet and all of them gives absolutely different statistics. (2) I and you is teenagers, so, our teenagers are has some hobbies.(2) Of course, in our modern world computer, and especially playing computer games is a very popular hobby. My mother don᾿t allow me to spend much time in front of the computer, but I can᾿t do anything about it. (1) Our teenagers likes to do sports, and it is good, isn᾿t is? Many people visits sport clubs, or different sections. (1) Very often parents give their children to sport sections from their childhood.

And I᾿d like to tell you about my hobbies. I like collecting and I have already collect a lot of old coins and marks. (1) I will show you them in the internet. Besides that I fond of music and playing football. (1) As for playing computer games I already told you about it. (1).

As far as you can remember Sasha asked Bobby to tell him about his own hobbies and hobbies of Englishmen. Now we are going to read the answer. But before that answer my question. It was nice to hear from you and get to know about your hobbies and hobbies in your country. I really found your letter very interesting. In your letter you asked me about hobbies in England. So, you are welcome.

It is not surprising that the most popular hobby in our country is doing…(1). And, of course the most important of them is…(2). A lot of people support their local clubs at matches or watch the matches…(3).

One of the most pleasant hobbies in our country is…(4). It doesn᾿t matter how old you are, what is your status and so on . We just like to grow up different flowers and plants and we are very proud of our (5). I will show you my garden, you will be impressed. Besides that Englishmen are absolutely crazy about…(6). They can collect everything- old watches and stamps, old cars and rare (редкий) coins. We are ready to give all the money we have for our collection, and even commit a crime! You have already understood that there are a lot of different hobbies, some of them are rather ordinary, and some are very unusual. I want you to look at the screen. I will show you the pictures of a young man whose name is Kevin. He is from the USA and he likes to explore dangerous and different places. But there is one more thing- he likes to iron.
