по теме: “Какие средства передвижения вы предпочитаете?”,

9 класс

Ленино-Кокушкинская СОШ.

Цели урока:

Развивающая : Формирование умений анализировать, обобщать и сравнивать, самостоятельно строить речевое действие.

Воспитательная: Воспитывать культуру речи, развивать умение дискутировать.

Образовательные: Создать условия для формирования умений иноязычной коммуникации. Развитие навыков аудирования и чтения.

Оборудование: Компьютер. Презентация. Рисунки. Аудиокассета. Газета ‘’School English’’.

Ход урока:

1. Приветствие. Hello, children! How are you doing? O.K. Let’s start our lesson.

2. Сообщение темы, целей урока.

Today we are going to discuss what means of travelling are the best. To answer this question you’ll use your own experience, texts, and the experiences of your classmates.

3. Мотивация. First, let’s try to find out Why do people travel?

When you answer, look at these pictures. They will help you to find the answer. (Слайд 1)

Учащиеся отвечают на вопрос, используя изученные фразы:

• They want to change their life.

• They hope to make a fortune.

• They want to discover new places, new species of animals or plants.

• They want to develop trade.

• They want to meet new people and get to know their lifestyles.

• They travel because of curiosity.

• They have a sense of adventure.

4.Реализация.

а) O.K. Now tell me please, what means of travelling do you know? How do they do it? Yes, they do it by air, by water, by land. ( Слайд 2).

Учащиеся по очереди называют средства передвижения (сначала воздушные, затем водные и наземные.) Правильность и подробность ответов проверяют по слайду.

You can also do this puzzle in the newspaper “School English”.

б) Now let’s clear up what means do you think are the best?

Let’s make two teams. Take one of these cards and find advantages of travelling by air and train. The expressions on the screen will help you. (Слайд 3).

• To be dangerous and exhausting.

• To take ages to get to.

• To suffer from hunger.

• To make travelling much easier and safer.

• To enjoy luxury travel.

• To get to the opposite side of the planet in hours.

• To enjoy nice food while travelling.

Работа в группах. После обсуждения по по одному представителю из группы называют преимущества и недостатки путешествия поездом и самолетом.

в) Т: but have you your own experience of travelling? I know that Alia travelled by plane. Let’s ask her some questions to learn what was it like.

Учащиеся задают вопросы Алие о ее полете на самолете в Турцию.

г) T. Planes, ships, … it’s very exciting. But here, in our life what is the most popular mean of transport? Yes, it’s a car of course.

Have you driven a car?

Have you got a driver’s license?

Now I want you to listen to a text about cars in the USA.

Try to find answer to these questions: (Слайд 4)

1. What do Americans use cars for?

2. How do teenagers earn money for their “wheels”?

3. What kind of service is popular in America?

4. What is an exciting drive-in service?

д) I hope you remember that travelling was not always a pleasant and luxurious thing. Sometimes it was rather dangerous and exhausting. We’ve read the text about icebergs and the great liners. What were they? (the Titanic, the Britannic, the Olympic).

Have you seen the film about the tragedy of the Titanic?

Who was the director of the film? (James Cameron)

Who were starring in this film? (Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet).

Now let’s read the text. You should put the parts of the text in the correct order.

— Good of you. But I’d like to be sure that you understand some of the expressions from the text. I’ll give you the Russian phrases, and you’ll find them in the text and read out. (Слайды 7-8)

5. Заключение.

Т: How can we answer the main question?

Учитель показывает рисунок со средством передвижения, учащиеся называют самую главную особенность. (Name the main feature).

Plane – the fastest.

Train – the most comfortable.

Ship – the slowest.

On foot – the healthiest.

Motorcycle – the most dangerous.

But in conclusion we can say that all means of travelling are good and interesting. Each of them has their own advantage. I hope that you’ll travel a lot in future. But don’t forget that, East or West — Home is Best.
