Our Favourite Pastimes

Цель урока: Введение в тему “Our Favourite Pastimes”. Формирование навыков чтения, говорения и аудирования по теме “ Our Favourite Pastimes ”.

Задачи урока

Учебный аспект:

  • активизировать лексико-грамматический материал по теме “Hobbies and Entertainments”;

  • формировать навыки говорения по теме “ Our Favourite Pastimes”;

  • формировать навыки поискового чтения и аудирования;

Познавательный аспект:

  • знакомить учащихся с популярными способами проведения досуга среди подростков в разных странах мира;

Развивающий аспект:

  • формировать и развивать учебно-организационные умения и навыки (взаимоконтроль, навыки самостоятельной работы, работы в парах).

Воспитательный аспект:

  • акцентировать внимание учащихся на способах проведения досуга;

  • создание ситуаций успеха и самореализации личности в различных видах деятельности.

Оборудование урока

Мультимедийный проектор, экран, презентация (PowerPoint); текст для аудирования (аудиоприложение к учебнику); карточки-таблицы к тексту.

Ход урока

Организационный момент.

Teacher (T): Good morning, boys and girls! Glad to see you. How are you today?

Pupils (P): Good morning, teacher! We are glad to see you too. We are fine, thank you.

Сообщение целей урока, его темы.

T: You had got so long holidays — nearly 10 days. Then, I’d like to ask you, how did you spend your holidays? What did you do during these time? And …I hope the board helps you to define/guess the theme of our lesson. Read please these phrases (названия увлечений):

P1: travelling

P2: gardening

P3: collection stamps …

P4: going info sports

P5: taking pictures

P6: reading

T: Do you know all these words and phrases?

P: Yes, we do.

T: Then guess the theme of the lesson. It is …

P: Our Pastime/ Our Free Time

T: Right you are the theme of our lesson today is “Our Favourite Pastime”. Now, I think you can guess what we will speak about today, can’t you?

P: I think we’ll speak about favourite activities and hobbies.

T: Right, at our lesson we start learning the new topic in reading, writing, listening and speaking. We’ll read about famous teenagers’ hobbies and try to tell and write about our own hobbies.

T: But first of all let’s warm up! Let’s pronounce the words you will need this lesson. Ilya, will you begin with the first line. Say after Ilya:

T: Dima, please, go on …

[ju:] –computer, music, musician

[о:] – sport, bored with, drawing, support, recording

[o] – jogging, fond of, hobby, popular, watching, competition

[I ] – activity, fishing, knitting, interested, chemistry, visit, exhibition

[aI ] – time, wildlife, bike, biology, diving, exciting

[eI ] – playing, games, favourite, famous, entertain, entertainment.



Речевая зарядка.

T: Well, now you are ready to speak about your pastimes. Use the pictures, the words you already know and tell us how you spent your free time during so long holidays.

Учащиеся поочередно высказываются (по 1 предложению) о том, чем занимались на майских праздниках.

Обучение чтению.

T: Tastes really differ… Different people spend their free time differently. Let’s see what the most popular pastime activities are among the pupils from all over the world.
Open your books, please.
Page 219, exercise 9. Polina, read the task, please.

Учащиеся предлагается прослушать запись и прочитать самим об интересах и увлечениях их сверстников.

P: Listen to the tape (74) and read what these people say about their interests. Whose interests do you share?

T: Well, and I ask you to be very attentive. I prepared a special task for you.

Well, now listen to the speaker and try to follow him. Read to yourselves, please.

T: Well done. Thank you. Some facts you can find in the text directly. But you should think of information to the last column carefully. I help you but a bit later. Let’s fill these three columns.

And the first pupil’s name is…

T: Most of all, the girl likes to ….

P3: study a lot o chemistry and biology, watch wild life and study their ecology, play with her pets.

T: That was our example. Now, try to do the task together in pairs.

Выполняют оставшуюся часть задания в парах.

T: I see you’ve done the exercise successfully. And I suggest you to fill in the last column, the creative task of the work. Imagine, all these pupils are going to visit Moscow and your task is to entertain them. Where will you go to with your new friends? Remember, they should be pleased with your suggestions.

Look at the board please. Here are the places of interest where you can invite your guests. (Смотрят на слайды с местами, которые могли бы понравиться ребятам)

Match the places and our friends. And let’s begin with the first paragraph. Where will you go with Nina?

В конце проделанной работы учащиеся сверяются с ответами и проверяют правильность выполнения упражнения.

T: Well, you’ve learnt some information about the way children can spend their free time. Now I suggest you to listen to the interview in a school. Open your books at page 214 and read the task ex.1. Julia, will you?

P1: Читает задание учебника. Listen to the tape and put the right names into these sentences.

T: Do you understand the task?

P2: We must fill in the missed children’s names.

T: Right you are. But let’s read the children’s activities at first. The first one isKseniya, read, please.

T: T: Well, pastime activities of young people are various. You’ve learnt a lot of information about hobbies and entertainments of other children. Now who can try to tell us about his or her favourite pastime. The plan will help you.

T: Children, your home task will be to answer the questions to the exercise 2 page 215 and fill in the form. Here are the cards.
