Методическая разработка урока английского языка по теме «Holidays and celebrations», 8 класс, учебник В.П. Кузовлева.

Цель: 1. приобщить учащихся к культуре, традициям и обычаям

страны изучаемого языка.

2. развивать у учащихся способность к творческому поиску и

самостоятельности.

Задачи: 1. активизировать употребление лексики по теме и речевую

деятельность посредством различного рода заданий.

2. приурочить уже имеющиеся знания к усвоению новой

информации.

Ход урока

T — Good morning, my dear friends! I am very glad to see you. Take your seats and let`s begin. Today we are having an unusual lesson. It is devoted to the topic “Holidays and celebrations” that all English and American people like.

But before speaking about such holidays let`s remember the words connected with this topic.

Say after me

— celebrate — give and get presents

— decorate — meet guests

— eat tasty dishes — congratulate on

— drink champagne — wish happiness, love, good luck

— take part in the parade — do the shopping

— customs — write and send postcards

— traditions — go to the church

P1 – I know a lot of holidays such as Halloween, Christmas, New Year`s Day.

P2 – Besides they celebrate Easter, St. Valentine`s Day and others.

T — You are right, I want you to work in groups of three. Choose any card you like and tell me some words about this or that holiday (выбирают карточку с названием одного праздника: Halloween, Christmas, Easter, New Year`s Day и 2 минуты готовятся к монологическому высказыванию; представляют свои рассказы)

T — By the way, what date is it today?

P1 – It is the fourth of November.

T — And what day of the week is it today?

P2 – It is Thursday.

T — Do you know what holiday American people celebrate today?

P3 – Is it Thanksgiving Day?

T — Yes, you are quite right, good for you. I`d like to present some slides to you about this holiday, we`ll work with the information and then you`ll do some tasks, be attentive, please. Especially pay your attention to the underlined words.
